Mandrel Maintenance
Cleaning: Post each use, employ a wire brush along with compressed air to remove rust, concrete residues, and oil adhering to the mandrel's surface. Pay special attention to cleaning the mating areas between the shaft neck and the bending mold, thus preventing impurities from infiltrating and wearing the shaft surface.
Lubrication: Apply high-temperature and extreme-pressure-resistant lithium-based grease to the mandrel's surface at least once a week. Utilize a specialized oil gun to replenish grease into the internal oil injection holes of the mandrel, ensuring thorough lubrication of the internal bearings. It is crucial to note that the grease filling quantity should not surpass two-thirds of the cavity volume to avert excessive heat generation during operation.
Inspection: Conduct a monthly check of the mandrel for cracks and deformations. Use a micrometer to measure the wear of the shaft diameter. When the wear exceeds 0.5mm or noticeable ovality occurs, promptly replace the mandrel to safeguard against a decline in bending accuracy.
Gear Maintenance
Cleaning and Rust Prevention: Following daily operations, dip a brush into a specialized gear cleaner to eliminate iron filings and oil stains from the gear surface. Apply a rust inhibitor after cleaning. For open gears, use a scraper to remove residual old grease from the tooth surface, as the mixing of new and old grease can diminish the lubrication effect.
Lubrication: Select gear oil with an appropriate viscosity (such as heavy-duty industrial gear oil) according to the gear speed and load. Employ an oil pot or dropper to perform drip lubrication on the gears weekly, ensuring the formation of a complete oil film on the tooth surface. For closed gearboxes, check the oil level and add lubricating oil quarterly, and replace the gear oil annually.
Inspection and Adjustment: Regularly use a stethoscope to check for any abnormalities in gear meshing sounds. In the event of sharp noises or periodic abnormal sounds, halt the machine immediately to inspect for gear breakage or wear. Simultaneously, use a feeler gauge to measure the gear backlash. When the backlash exceeds 1.5 times the standard value, adjust the gear shaft spacing or replace the gear set.
